| Yvonne Lewis I was educated in the United Kingdom. I went to Kindergarten when I was 3 years old. When I was 5 I went to Primary School. At 6 years old my family moved from England to Wales where I went to Boarding School. I started Secondary School in Cardiff when I was 12 years old. It was a Convent Secondary School for girls. At the end of Secondary School all children in the United Kingdom take GCSE (General Certificate of Education) exams. Children usually take around 8 exams but I took 10. The highest mark is A* (A star), the next is A and then B, C, D and E. I got an A* in Art and English Literature. I had an A in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Design Technology and Economics. My worst mark was a B in Maths and English Language. I was good at Science. I was bad at French. My favourite subjects were Science and Geography. The worst subject was Maths. I finished school at 16 years old. My friends went to College and studied A-Levels for two years. My friends took 3 A-Levels each. I lived 20km from the nearest college but there was no bus or train, so I studied one A-Level at home and took a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course. When I was 18 years old, I moved to England and studied English Language part-time with the Open University. My best friends also went to University. Jaina went to University in Cardiff and Sheena went to University in London. Jaina was very good at art and Sheena was very good at languages. I went to full-time University in 2002. I studied Physical Geography. I graduated in 2005. University usually takes 3 years but it takes longer if you study to be a doctor. I have the title BSc (Bachelor of Science) but Sheena has the title BA (Bachelor of Arts). This year I will do my PGCE (Post-graduate certificate of Education). My friend Lou is doing a Masters for one year so she will have the title MBSc. Likewise, you can also have MBa. In future I would like to do research and get a PhD (Doctorate). In my spare time I go to many evening courses at Adult Education Colleges or at the Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University. Curriculum Vitae |
