Vocabulary and phrases
St. Mary's Church is in Birmingham, on St. Mary's street.  The church hall is at the back and the car park is at the side, on the right.  The entrance to the car park is on St. Mary's street, infront of the church.  The Parish house is at the side of the church, on the leftInfront of the house is a small garden.  The post box is in the door.  The rubbish bins are behind the house.  Opposite the church are houses.  At the end of St. Mary's street is a bridge over the river.  Over the bridge is a cross road.  The road on the right goes to city centre east, the road on the left goes to the south and the road straight ahead goes to city centre west.

The church was built in 1906. 
Inside the church there are pews (benches) with kneelers.  The altar is at the end of the church, opposite the large doors.  The Sacristy is on the right, next to the altar.  Confession takes place in the Sacristy.  During Mass the Altar boys and girls sit on the right and on the left of the altar.  The baptisimal font is on the right, near the altar.  The stations of the cross run along the walls on the right and the left.  Hymn books and missals are kept at the back of the church in a bookcase.  Hymn numbers are displayed on a church column at the front of the church.  Next to the main door is a holy water font.
