The Basics about Darkstalkers
Darkstalkers, or Vampyre as it was known in Japan, is based on a series of games for the Sony Playstation, Sega Saturn, and recently for Dreamcast. Traditionally a 2D fighter, it takes place in a reality where traditional monsters are real. The term darkstalker applies to any being that cannot be explained by humans and their scientific philosiphies. Some are supernatural in origin, while others were created through man made devices like the Huitzil, while still others are simply beasts that have lived on Earth longer than written history of the humans. No matter the origin, the humans are very predjudice against the dark ones, and many darkstalkers feel likewise in return.

The Vampyre/Demon known as Demitri Maximov is holding a world-wide tournament for all darkstalkers who dare enter. Ten fighters enter this first tournament, including Maximov himself. The other fighters are Morrigan the succubus, Jon Talbain the werewolf, Felicia the catwoman, Bishamon the accursed samurai, Anakaris the mummy, Victor the Frankenstein, Lord Raptor the ghoul, Rikuo the merman, and Sasquatch the..er..Sasquatch. Each has a reason for entering and you get to face the boss and sub boss of the next game: Huitzil and Pyron. (for Playstation)
