The site that I chose was a web site that introduces either extinct or threatened species. This would be appropriate for a science lesson for 4th or 5th graders.
Strategies for use with:
Individuals: Individual assignments would involve the students taking on a particular animal and submitting a thorough report complete with the guidelines that are given.
Small Groups: Small groups would be formed and assigned a specific animal. The groups would be responsible for reporting on the animal's habitat and strategies that are being used to prevent the animal from becoming extinct.
Full Class Instruction: Full class instruction would involve teaching the class what extinction is and how it could possibly disrupt the food chain or ecosystem.
