WebMaster's Note: Obviously there are some parts of her origin left out, for now, but I'm currently rereading her appearances. I will update as I go. Thanks.

In Avengers #16, the Avengers received a change in their line-up. The roster of original Avengers (Iron Man, Hank Pym, the Wasp, and Thor,) all needed to take a leave of absence. Their first recruit Captain America (found in suspended animation / joined Avengers in #4) was joined by thought Villain Hawkeye, the famous archer. Hawkeye was the first reformed criminal to join the Avenger ranks. Luckily he wasn't the last. The Avengers tried recruit Namor, the Sub Mariner who declined due to Royal Duties to Atlantis. Halfway around the world, in a Swiss chalet, mutant speedster, Quicksilver, saw the news headlines of the Avengers status in the local paper. Showing Wanda that they accepted Hawkeye as prohibitionary member, and were considering other replacements, Pietro believed that this was their chance.

Although vowing to never use their mutant powers again, after
their exploitation from Magneto, and his band of Evil Mutants, Wanda decided to trust her brother's decision. During their fights with the X-Men, they secretly favored the X-Men's cause, but Pietro believed that a place with the Avengers wouldn't constantly remind them of their Homo Superior genetics. Deciding this was their best choice, Quicksilver began a letter addressing their interest to the Acting Chairman of Avengers at that time.
