The Deck

We both want to wait until the weather is absolutely unbearable before we turn on the air-conditioner, therefore the screens needed replacing. They were probably original to the addition and were paint stained, holy and rusty. Jim purchased aluminum screen for the project and the results are pleasing. And, no bugs, if we'll remember to close the sliding screen door! Tip: Do a small window screen first to get the practice and feel for the spline tool, then attempt a bigger area, like the screen door.

A little plant life, a few simple chairs and the decor of our new living space is complete. Argent, our two-year old female, seems to enjoy the new surroundings and finds time to pose for a picture. The hot tub is now waiting for the Electrician or someone like him. We stained the deck and interior fence with Behr waterproofing stain in "Redwood/Cedar". The initial appearance was too red for our taste, but after a week in constant sunlight, the color has faded to this beautiful shade and practically matches the wood on the hot tub.
