Shalt Deny Me Thrice
Matthew 26:34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
This night is a specific night .In Appendix 51 will show you what the cockcrowing is it is time of the Third watch which is 12am-3am..So Peter-Petras; moveable rock would deny Christ 3 times before the 3rd watch, 12th hour.Which we also know from Matt. 25 the parable of the 10 vigins that the Bridegroom would come at midnight which is 12:00 am. Crow in the Greek is phoneo it means to emit sound ( animal, human or instumental); to address in words or by name; also in imitation. It is used 44 times ( 40=probation + 4= creation this earth age). Deny is in the Greek is aparneomia it means to untterly deny, disown; abstain. It is used 14 times(deliverance salvation); 9 times (judgment) when speaking of the Denial of Christ before men. And then 5times ( grace) the denial of self and taking up our cross daily; in other words will to die for the Word of God.
Matthew 26:35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.
We see here Peter saying
he will deny his self and take up his cross daily. In the next
few verses we will see it is based upon the same subject because
the time of the watch was given in the prior verse 34 the
cockcrowing. Likewise will see the number 3.
Matthew 26:36 ¶ Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane,( OIL PRESS) and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
We see here he took all
of his disciples, except Judas Iscarriot who had left just prior
to this after the breaking of bread. So we have 11 disciples (
disorder) in the next verse we will see he will take with him 3(
divine completeness) and that would leave 8( new beginnings). His
instructions were for them to sit here at the Oil Press.
Matthew 26:37 And he took with him Peter( PETRA-MOVEABLE ROCK) and the two sons of Zebedee,( GIVING) and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
This is very intresting
to me that he took Peter he who he promised would build the
church-many membered body upon "The Rock". And then we
have the two sons of Zabedee 2 ( witnessing/division). Which as
we know from Mark 3:17 that they are called the sons of thunder.
The Word thunder there in the Greek is used 12 times(
Governmental Perfection). That is looking what is on the surface.
We see that Zabedee is the equivalent of Zabdi in the Hebrew....I
am sure you are saying what does that have to do with this.....Joshua
chapter 7 Achan the son of Zabdi took of the accursed thing.
Matthew 26:38 Then
saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto
death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
Soul here is psuche.
Sorrowful in the Greek is greived all around; intensly sad. Tarry
in the Greek is Meno which means stay. Watch in the Greek means
to keep awake; watch be vigilant.
Matthew 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
As we know this is the cup of wrath...see the compassion in this.
Matthew 26:40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
Remember in Matthew 25:5
the ten virgins while the bridegroom tarried the slumbered and
slept. I think it is important to note that he addressed Peter
specifically. We know this is speaking of the Hour of Temptation.
The one hour that the 10 kings receive power with the beast Rev
17:12.
Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Think of what is said in Rev.
3:10 the church of Philadelphia-Brotherly Love; Because though
hast kept the Word of my Patience I will keep the from the Hour
of Temptation. Greek word for Temptation is used 21 times (
exceeding sinfulness of sin). Willing here is prothumos which
means forward in spirit; predisposed. It is used only 3times(divine
completeness).
Matthew 26:42 He went
away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if
this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will
be done.
Second time( 2=witnessing-division)
Matthew 26:43 And he
came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
Heavy in the Greek is weighed down it is used 7 times. Spiritualy speaking many today have heavy eyes their eyes can not see the truth.
Matthew 26:44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.45 Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.46 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
Hour is used 108 times ( 100- Children of the Promise + 8 new beginnings).Son of man is betrayed; I realize this is speaking of Judas Iscariot...but take a moment and think of the role satan will will play and how he was a Cherubum that covered the mercy seat, I don't think it was possible for him to play this role in the 1st earth age, for the very simple fact that God was there. We see here he is praying abou the Wrath that will soon be poured out upon all the nations ( Think in present time today) Summation of the 3 times Christ went and prayed
I think that by
taking in to account who is this Peter that would deny Christ
thrice and would be addressed by Christ for not watching but
sleeping, would give us some insight into these 3 times both the
denial and the not watching. 2 Peter chapter 3 drives it home
that there are 3 earth ages. He would teach on 3 levels Jewish-
Juda, Isreal, and the Gentiles. Likewise he was the founder of
the church which when we consider were the litteral Church is
that he founded majority in confusion and babel.
Or we could look at it in this aspect 3 times he denies Christ. 3
times he was sleeping- 3+3= 6th dispensation which at the end of
the 3rd time would be the Wrath of God poured out 1st day of the
millinium.
