| Welcome to….. ZANGZ’S HALLOWEEN HOLLOW |
| It is within this passage of my Vault of Geekdom where it is Halloween year round! I mean, since it is the most fun holiday of the year, why should we be subjugated to only having it one day a year? If it is January and you want to get your Halloween jones going, then come on in here where that fix can be taken care of. As I’ve said before, fall is my favorite time of year! I love the change of bright colors in the trees, the way the wind blows the leaves about, the smell of the leaves and pumpkin spices. I love the way it gets a bit nip in the air, just brisk enough to wake you up in the morning, yet not cold enough to freeze you. There’s something else in that cold, though…something somewhat foreboding. It is enhanced with the days growing darker at an earlier hour, as though unspeakable things were demanding a more conducive atmosphere for them to roam in. Unseen presences can be felt floating about the living. Perhaps they are trying to tell us something. Did I just see something move behind that tree? Or was it just the shadow of one of its branches? …Did I just hear the whisper of someone trying to get my attention in this graveyard? Or was it my imagination playing tricks on me, because I don’t see anybody here. …Did I just see a dim, blue light pass by the attic window of the inside of that abandoned old mansion? Or was that the reflection of a passing car? These are some of the fun and mysterious puzzles that we are confronted with during this season. There are other visions that the Halloween season brings to mind… Jack-O-Lanterns set upon many neighborhood porches, little monsters, witches and mummies running through the neighborhood, competing for the bigger candy loot, an imaginative neighbor who decorates his property to resemble a graveyard, the pumpkin scented candles that spice up a room, the flicker of those same candles bouncing off the ceiling of a dark room where a chilling horror movie plays on TV, standing in line with a bunch of friends laughing nervously while awaiting entry into one of the local Haunted Houses. I love it all!!!!! ALL OF IT!!! |
