Zangz's Vault of Geekdom Proudly Presents...Mad Mario's
Special Halloween
All Sith Star Wars RPG Game
Durring the Halloween season of October, my Star Wars RPG GM, Mad Mario, decided to do something a tad different.  He decided to put aside the current SWRPG storyline with the usual characters (Mereel, Lar, Jodz, Etc...) and go back to a time when users of the Dark Side of The Force were at war with the Jedi.  We each had the opportunity to role up a Sith / Dark side user/ evil mo-fo to use in this special one time scenario.  Here are the results........

Special Halloween Sith Game
“J7”
Story line by Mad Mario, edited by Leslie
As played on 10/12/02

The players/characters:
Lord Drakoniz (Kris) - Omwati male Sith Lord
Mal Prave (Zangz) - Human male Interrogator
IB Weezl (Bruce) - Human male Tainted Jedi
Darth Shade (Leslie) - Falleen female Sith Warrior
Don Var (Dave) -  Human (non-Force using) male Soldier/Guard

One thousand years before the Battle of Yavin, Lord Kaan, at his Court of Shadows, summons Lord Drakoniz to his chambers.  Lord Drakoniz, founder of the Crimson Drakul Ephilim, is a famous alchemist and, at the present, in high favor with Lord Kaan.  He arrives at the appointed hour but the guards tell him Kaan is indisposed and one actually has the audacity to smirk – Drakoniz does not find this amusing so he uses Force Grip on the insolent guard, asking him if something amuses him.  Finally Lord Drakoniz is allowed entry and there Kaan gives him a mission: go to Dathomir, an unknown planet, where a Jedi ship has crashed.  On that ship is a holocron and an orb.  The holocron holds a "Force Matrix" that contains vast knowledge and the orb holds the essence of Ulic Qel-Droma.  Drakoniz is to assemble a team and depart as soon as possible.  Available information also indicates that the Jedi team is made up of 1 Jedi Master, 3 Jedi Guardians and 2 Padawans.

Standing behind Kaan, who is seated on his throne, Sith Lady Dathmorda prides herself in having Kaan's ear and is an ambitious bitch who wants to bear the Dark Lord's child to cement her place at his side and in Sith history.  She sees Lord Drakoniz as competition for Kaan's favor and is jealous of his very good relationship with the Dark Lord.  Drakoniz has succeeded in every mission that he has been sent on and it's time to change that since Dathmorda can see that the Sith are becoming more ambitious, more in-fighting is happening and Kaan is trying to hold the order together so it can crush the hated Jedi.  If she can defeat Drakoniz, that is one less thing she needs to worry about as she plans her ultimate domination of Kaan and the Sith.

Drakoniz begins to assemble his team but does not realize that the members he is choosing have already been prepared by Dathmorda and are either working for her or, skillfully hidden, for themselves – although one member of the team can not be manipulated since they are following the orders of their master.  Drakoniz sends a messenger to notify his newly chosen team to assemble at the Court's audience chamber: Mal Prave, a human male and one of only a few interrogators at the Court of Shadows is of medium height, has short white hair but has a regal bearing in his purple robes; he truly enjoys his profession and keeps score of his victims by cutting lines into his chest for each successful interrogation; IB Weezl, an albino human male who continues to wear his original Jedi clothing and has been studying the ways of the Sith for years - these are the first two summoned.  The same messenger goes to find the 3rd member of the team and interrupts her workout, thereby suffering a non-lethal Force Grip to his throat for the interruption.  Darth Shade, a very skilled and sensuous Falleen female Sith Warrior, has found great favor in her master's eyes for her unswerving loyalty and obedience; her master gave her that name as a way to honor her skillful use of shadows and her pride in "casting the Jedi into the dark" when she kills them.  She tells the messenger she will attend Lord Drakoniz as soon as she prepares herself.  After showering, the Sith Warrior dons her cortosis jumpsuit with cortosis face veil then hangs her garnet bladed lightsaber from her belt and attaches Virago, the Sith Sword that her master gave her, to her back; she soon makes her way to the audience chamber, black dreadlocks fanning out like lethal snakes around her head.

Arriving there, Darth Shade finds the other 2, Mal Prave and IB Weezl, waiting outside of the audience chamber.  A short time later, Lord Drakoniz arrives.  They wait for Lord Kaan, who is strangely not in attendance but both Lord Drakoniz and Darth Shade hear a voice coming from within the chamber.  It is speaking Sith and is demanding payment.  The voice actually radiates cold and they can also sense the presence of immense power.  There is an almost overwhelming aura of hatred and malevolence as well.  Kaan's guards are standing outside of the audience doors but have moved slightly away from it, fearing what is inside.  Using Farseeing, Drakoniz sees a skull-like visage that suddenly senses his spying so the Sith Lord quickly severs the connection.

It soon becomes obvious that Lord Kaan will not appear but Dathmorda arrives at the antechamber where one of the guards, named Don Var, quickly offers her his assistance.  She suggests to Lord Drakoniz that he needs a skilled pilot and Don Var is very, very skilled at the controls.  Although Drakoniz does not appreciate such suggestions, he realizes the team does need a pilot so accepts but decides to watch this guard very closely.  Lady Dathmorda warns Drakoniz of the Queen of the Dathomir Witches who hates men and tells him of the other dangerous creatures inhabiting this far off planet.  Drakoniz is suspicious of Dathmorda, particularly when she suggests that it would be beneficial to ask the Queen for permission to search for the Jedi and their ship.

The team soon leaves on board Drakoniz's Sith Infiltrator and arrives in-system at Dathomir.  There is a strange emission coming from it and a radioactive field surrounding the planet.  It is emanating from a desert area.  We cloak the ship.  Shade suggests sending a probe into the field and, to their surprise, it passes directly through it.  The Falleen then suggests an ion burst into the field which, upon being hit, dissipates but it then closes quickly.  We fire another ion burst following closely behind it and pass through the field unharmed.  Scanning the planet, we locate the Jedi ship in the desert and land 3km away.

Our sensors indicate that the ship is partially imbedded into a sand dune and that 5 of the Jedi are heading away from it, opposite from our location.  One Jedi is still at the ship.  There is, however, a sense of darkness everywhere.

Drakoniz, IB and Shade take off across the desert on Sith speeders.  They intend to overpower the remaining Jedi.  IB, since he is wearing Jedi clothing, approaches the Cerean Jedi Guardian and convinces him that he is part of a rescue team.  The Cerean, Pratt Ryhes, agrees to go to the rescue ship for additional parts and tools to repair his ship while IB remains behind to protect it.  Shade receives a telepathic message from Drakoniz to render the Jedi unconscious while he goes for the holocron.

Meanwhile, IB quickly searches the ship and finds the holocron and, using his lightsaber, opens the case it is in.  As he is about to put it into his robes, Lord Drakoniz appears.  Quickly covering up his attempt at taking the holocron for himself or others, he stutters something about having found the holocron for Lord Drakoniz and hands it over.

As this is happening inside the ship, Darth Shade sneaks up behind the Cerean Jedi and knocks him unconscious and quickly trusses him up, taking his lightsaber for herself.  As she waits, she watches Drakoniz and IB coming out of the ship but then  notices a large bipedal beast  approaching so she quickly comms the ship to pick them and the speeders up.  The dark side tells Shade the beast is called a Rancor and, while very stupid, can be very deadly.  The ship quickly arrives, picking up everyone, including the unconscious Jedi.

Drakoniz gives the Jedi Guardian a drink that contains Sith Poison.  He goes into a trance almost immediately when he realizes what he has ingested – mediation is the only way to possibly fight the poison.  Drakoniz tickles him with Sith Lightning in an attempt to break his concentration and get him to absorb the poison.  Mal Prave rolls out a leather bag that contains all of his torture instruments and selects a particularly sharp scalpel.  He slowly cuts off the right nipple of the Jedi and is surprised when he gets no reaction.  He then cuts off the other and receives only a mild response.  As the torture continues and the Jedi provides no important information, Drakoniz orders his death and Prave, using his lightsaber, slices the Cerean down the center and then quickly adds a notch to his own chest.

While the Cerean Jedi was meditating, however, he managed to send a telepathic message to the other Jedi so they have come back to the ship.  As our cloaked ship approaches them, we can see 2 Jedi standing guard outside: both female, one human and the other Twilek, and both are obviously Padawans.  Quickly Drakoniz, Shade and IB launch speeders from the ship but IB can't maintain control of his so he crashes to the ground, dying of a broken neck.

In her typical fashion, Darth Shade kills both padawans quickly then she and Lord Drakoniz circled around on their speeders as the 3 remaining Jedi emerge from the ship: there is an older human male who separates from the others, obviously the Master!  The other two, one human and the other Caldorian, are Jedi Guardians.  Darth Shade swings her speeder around and charges the Jedi Master as she pulls her Sith Sword (as another gift from her master, he had imbued the inside of the scabbard with Sith Poison so, each time she withdraws the sword, the edge is coated with the poison).  She hits the Jedi Master, introducing the poison into his system, but he manages to hit her with his lightsaber. She takes damage but laughs as the lightsaber deactivates from contact with her dark armor.  Lord Drakoniz, in the meantime, attempts to take on both of the Jedi Guardians.  As they continue to fight, Darth Shade continues her battle with the Jedi Master with both taking lots of damage.

Shade soon realizes that she must return to the ship in order to recuperate from the damage she has taken from the Jedi Master so she disengages.  As she does, several Dathomir Witches drop from the sky in an attempt to dislodge her and Lord Drakoniz from their speeders.  One knocks Drakoniz off of his but Shade manages to avoid the other two and quickly returns to the ship, knowing she can't help him in the condition she is currently in.  Drakoniz kills the witch that knocked him off then defends himself expertly against the 3 Jedi while waiting for the ship that he quickly comms to pick him up.

When the ship arrives, Drakoniz disengages and grabs the body of IB, leaping onto the lowered ramp of the ship.  To his surprise, IB is alive!  His neck healed!  What is going on here?  IB is slightly disoriented and keeps looking over his shoulder, hearing voices whispering to him.

After some healing, both Drakoniz and Shade are ready to continue the battle but Drakoniz needs to stay on the ship to activate the holocron and learn its secrets. Sensors show that the 3 Jedi have left the ship and are heading towards a series of caves so he orders Shade, IB, Mal Prave and Don Var to follow and KILLL THEM ALL.  As Shade, using her tracking skill, follows them, a strange fog begins to roll in!  The trails soon split but Shade, knowing the Jedi Master is smaller and lighter than the other two, takes the party into the cave he entered.  With a probe droid in the lead, the team follows the Jedi Master further into the bowels of Dathomir.  However, unbeknownst to Shade, Mal Prave and IB Weezl, Don Var had quickly sabotaged the Sith Infiltrator before they left so that it can not be flown by anyone but him and he also left the team for a short time to lay  mines inside of the Jedi ship.

As they continue in the darkness after the Jedi Master, Shade senses she is being followed so backs up against the wall and waits. Whatever it is, it quickly scurries up the wall and away into the stygian darkness.  She continues on but suddenly hears a voice.  It is the Jedi Master saying "So, Mahlbosia, you have found me.  Which body have you taken this time?"  Shade, with her intense knowledge of Sith Lore, recognizes the name as a very powerful Sith Lord from 500 years ago.

The Jedi Master wants to negotiate; at least that's what he claims.  However, Shade soon realizes that he has taken over Don Var's mind and is manipulating him when he suddenly turns on Mal Prave and orders him to give up his weapons.  Prave has no option at this point so hands him his blaster pistol.  Shade, conveying every meaning of the name given to her by her master, has remained in the darkness, watching, waiting for an opportunity to end this.  She pulls out 2 frag grenades and lobs, one each, towards the Jedi Master and at Don Var and Mal Prave.  The Jedi Master takes full damage (he is still weakened by the Sith Poison she had introduced into his body earlier) but both Var and Prave manage to avoid the full blast and only take partial damage.

At this point, they can hear the cave entrance being blocked by huge rocks and IB scurries away but, to his surprise, the large Rancors outside let him pass unharmed.  He is, however, taken prisoner by a group of Dathomir Witches – who, for whatever reasons, find him rather attractive.
As he is being lead away, a voice, in his mind, whispers to him that he must "take the last one out."

While Var and Prave are still shaken by the blast, Shade leaps forward, igniting her own garnet bladed lightsaber and the Cerean's blue one, slashing at Var.  She needs to kill him since the Jedi Master is still controlling him!  He is badly injured by the lightsabers but manages to pull a thermal detonator!  Meanwhile, the Jedi Master and Mal Prave both move away from the action.  Shade, using Move Object, manages to pull the thermal detonator from Var's hand as she dives for cover.  It detonates but doesn’t kill Var.  She quickly regains her feet, switches off the Jedi lightsaber and hangs it on her belt.

Lobbing her last frag grenade, she finally kills Don Var but finds the Jedi Master still alive – calmly brushing dust from his robes! Using the secret fighting style taught to her by her master, Darth Shade casts the Jedi Master into darkness and retrieves his lightsaber for her trophy shelf.  During all of this, Mal Prave had dashed for the tunnel opening only to find it completely blocked by large boulders.  Shade comes out of the fluid darkness and manages to dislodge one of the smaller boulders using Move Object, creating a small hole to the outside.  Not knowing whether she can trust Mal Prave, she quickly slices him into three pieces.  Suddenly, the 2 Rancors begin pulling away the blockage in an attempt to now reach Darth Shade.  She quickly sends a telepathic message to Lord Drakoniz to help her but she knows it will take a long time before he can make it there.

Lord Drakoniz realizes he must help Darth Shade, as she is the only one in the team that appears to be worthy of survival.  After all, each of the deaths, Don Var and Mal Prave, were felt through the force and he knows who killed them.  He must delay his use of the holocron for now.  What Lord Drakoniz soon realizes, however, when he attempts to raise the ship to go to Darth Shade's rescue is that Don Var sabotaged it.  Drakoniz is furious.  He quickly gets on the last remaining speeder and skims across the desert towards the caves.

Meanwhile, Darth Shade knows she has no option but to stand and fight the beasts.  She retrieves the 4 frag grenades from Prave's body and lobs one into the open mouth of one of the Rancors.  It swallows it!  However, it doesn't die so she quickly lobs the last 3 at it, finally killing it.  The second Rancor is eventually killed by her expert use of 2 lightsabers.

As she rushes outside, the 2 Jedi Guardians confront her.  Their calmness infuriates her as she begins a devastating assault, using the fighting techniques taught to her by her master.  She soon kills the large human male Guardian by decapitating him.  As she faces the Caldorian, Lord Drakoniz arrives and blasts the Jedi with Sith Lightning, finally killing him.

They depart together on the speeder to return to the ship but the Dathomir Witches have destroyed the Sith Infiltrator.  However, it is IB who they see emerging from the smoking ruin.  Landing nearby, Drakoniz confronts the albino and begins to fight him.  Darth Shade, waiting as if in shadow, makes the only decision she can.  As the two combatants, Lord Drakoniz and the possessed tainted Jedi, enter her area of attack, she unleashes an attack of opportunity with her own garnet bladed lightsaber and one of the Jedi lightsabers.  With a quick series of slashes and thrusts, she kills IB who was possessed by the spirit of the Sith Lord Mahlbosia. Switching off both lightsabers, Darth Shade then turns to Lord Drakoniz and bows from the waist with deep respect and pride.

Upon Shade's suggestion of trying to repair the communication system on board the Jedi ship, they go there only to discover that Don Var had laid mines along the ramp.  As they are deciding what to do, a large mechanical biped appears.  It is a long-lost mech with an AI that deems all organic life to be an infection so it begins firing at them.  This was the strange emission coming from the planet and what actually pulled the Jedi ship down to crash on Dathomir.  Darth Shade deflects its cannon shots while Drakoniz drains the energy from its power cells.  The mech slumps over, dead.

Soon Drakoniz drains the energy from the mines and he manages to repair the communication system, sending a message to one of his minions.  He receives confirmation that the message was received but that it will take 6 hours to reach them.  As they wait, 2 more Rancors arrive but Drakoniz creates an illusion that lures them away to attack an imaginary ship.

Eventually the rescue ship arrives and they leave Dathomir.  Drakoniz is now in high favor with Lord Kaan.  Darth Shade adds 6 lightsabers to her growing collection: 4 from the Jedi she killed (2 Padawans, 1 Guardian and 1 Master) and 1 from the Jedi Guardian she disabled on Dathomir and 2 from Mal Prave and IB Weezl.

GM note: The title, J7, denotes 7 Jedi.  The 7th Jedi was the essence of Ulic Qel-Droma.
