Luke Chap 7:11-17

Messiah Yeshua raised the Widow's Son

  1. It happened soon afterwards, that he went to a city called Na`im. Many of his talmidim went with him, along with a great multitude.
  2. Now when he drew near to the gate of the city, behold, one who was dead was carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her.
  3. When the Adonay saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her, "Don't cry."
  4. He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, "Young man, I tell you, arise!"
  5. He who was dead sat up, and began to speak. He gave him to his mother.
  6. Fear took hold of all, and they glorified Elohim, saying, "A great prophet has arisen among us!" and, "Elohim has visited his people!"
  7. This report went out concerning him in the whole of Yehudah, and in all the surrounding region.

Comments

Naim was a little town southwest of Capernaum. At that time Messiah Yeshua saw a funeral procession leaving the city. It was the only son of a widow. The Adonay had compassion on the bereaved widow. He touched the frame on which the body was laid to stop the procession - Yeshua ordered the young men to arise and he immediately came back to life. He got up and begin to speak.

According to the Jewish Torah: To touch something associated with death brought ceremonial defilement, which had to be removed by purification before entrance into a synagogue. By this means Does Messiah Yeshua display His disregard for valueless ceremonial Torah?

No, in this incident shows that Messiah Yeshua is the Adonay of death as well as over disease restored the boy to his mother.
