From:To: Hebraic Heritage Newsgroup ; Hebraic Heritage Newsgroup 2 ; Hebraic Heritage Newsgroup 3 Subject: Aleph / Tav in Scripture Date: Monday, 27 March, 2000 00:43 From: Phil Luna To: heb_roots_chr@hebroots.org Subject: Aleph / Tav in Scripture The Messiah Yeshua/Jesus called himself (Alpha and Omega) which is (Aleph and Tav) in Hebrew. (Revelation 1:8, 11, 22:13). This is a reference to ( Isaiah 41:4, 44:6, 48:12). There are other scripture references of the Aleph / Tav. Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God (ALEPH/TAV) created the heavens and the earth." Deuteronomy 6:4,5 "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! You shall love (ALEPH/TAV) the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength." Deuteronomy 18:18 "'I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them (ALEPH/TAV) all that I command Him." Deuteronomy 18:20 "'But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name (ALEPH/TAV), which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.'" Isaiah 53:6 "All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him (ALEPH/TAV) the iniquity of us all." Zechariah 11:12 "Then I said to them, æIf it is agreeable to you, give me my wages; and if not, refrain.' So they weighed out for my wages (ALEPH/TAV) thirty pieces of silver." Zechariah 12:10 "And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me (ALEPH/TAV) whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. Zechariah 13:7 "Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, Against the Man who is My Companion," Says the LORD of hosts. "Strike (ALEPH/TAV) the Shepherd, And the sheep will be scattered; Then I will turn My hand against the little ones." What I find extremely interesting is that the Jews do not accept the idea of Messiah being Deity, and yet we find passages about Jehovah (Gen 1:1, Deu 6:4,5, etc.) with the ALEPH/TAV attached to the verse and we also find Messianic verses (Zech 12:10, Isa 53:6, etc.) that have the ALEPH/TAV attached as well. -Phil *******************************************************************
