Sensei Kora Nowak, 5th Dan, Chief Instructor, started training Karate in 1967. She gained her Shodan in 1971 and in the same year travelled to Tokyo where she trained with the Japanese Karate Association under the late Sensei M Nakayama. Prior to leaving for Australia in 1972, she was graded Nidan by Sensei Nakayama. She received her Sandan and Yondan ranks from Sensei Hirokazu Kanazawa, and her Godan rank from Sensei Frank Nowak.
Sensei Kora Nowak has been involved in the Australian Karate Federation (formerly the Federation of Australian Karate-Do Organisations) since its inceptions and was one of the earliest Senior Referees and Instructors in the Organisation.
Amongst her main accomplishments are the development of several male and female Kumite and Kata champions at the state, national and international level.
