A Short History Of Sensei Steve...
<<< I began training in Shotokan karate in England in 1974 achieving brown belt before emigrating to Brisbane in 1981.
Upon arrival I could not find a suitable Shotokan style club so commenced training in another Japanese Karate style known as 'Shito Ryu' starting again from white belt but was graded as first Dan black belt in that style in 1984.

During that year by chance met up with one of my old instructors from England (Sensei Trevor Roberts) who invited me to train at a seminar with his Chief Instructor Sensei Frank Nowak. "The seminar was fantastic I was in awe of Sensei's wonderful techniques and teaching style" from that seminar immediately re-commenced training in the Shotokan style and was later graded to 1st Dan Black belt in 1988 and then second dan in 1992.

During the mid 80's through to the mid 90's was very competitive in both Kata and Kumite and was recognised by being appointed as the Queensland Team captain for the National Titles in WA in 1995.

In 2000 I brought my family to Sydney ,contacted Sensei Mark and commenced training at the Baulkham Hills dojo with my two sons Robert and Michael who are now both purple belts.

For me Karate is a wonderful way to stay fit, workout with my boys in a club that is very disciplined, traditional, competitive but very family oriented.
