On June 28 1989, Mr. Milosevic addressed a crowd of up to a million
Serbians in Kosovo, an event that many Western commentators have identified
as the height of Slobodan's political power. Ironically, a decade later, he would
be arrested on the same day, which is marked on the Serbian calendar as
St Vitus Day or Vidovdan
