| As part of the requirements of the course Film II at Towson University, I made a short film entitled Frohike. The film was shot in the course of approximately three hours on October 31, 2005, on 16mm color film (250D,) with sync-sound. A general synopis of the film, though much of this isn't really apparent directly in the film, is that Frohike is a renowned operatic counter-tenor who has just given the final performance of his career. He was not particularly pleased with this final concert, and so he's in a sour mood, wanting little more than to get drunk, high, and laid. And so the film opens with Frohike entering the concert's afterparty. After dancing to a crazy disco-ragtime, the drugs are broken out, and confusion ensues. And then, out of no where, a man from another place enters, Mr. White, and he presents a telephone to God to Frohike. And, well, you'll have to see the film to find out what happens after that. (I'm currently working on finding a way to have it available for download.) The film premiered at Towson University's Van Bokkelen audatorium on December 10, 2005. The film stars Thomas Nixon as Frohike, Christopher Redman as The Pianist, Rob Lindgren as The Guitarist, Kenny Hudson as The Drummer, and Brian Dinterman as Mr. White. And about a dozen extras. |
