unsalted butter, melted 1/2cup
fine sugar 1cup
 eggs 2
fine semolina 2cups
baking powder 1tsp
baking soda 1/2tsp
Blanched almonds 1/2cup
Sugar Syrup 1cup with little lime juice
Preparation
1.whisk butter and the sugar and then beat in the eggs. add 1/2 cup of water and stir.
2.Sift together the semolina, baking powder, and soda, and stir into the butter mixture to form a smooth batter.
3. Preheat the oven to 350 ° F. Lightly butter an 8x12inch Baking pan and pour in the batter. Spread it evenly. Make diamond shapes. Place an almond in the center of each diamond. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, when done the cake should be firm and lightly browned.
4.pour sugar syrup little at a time, over the hot cake until it is nicely soaked in syrup. cool before serving.
