Lemon Bars |

Ingredients for bars: |

all purpose flour 2cups |
|
|
|
powdered sugar 1/2cup |
|

|

butter softened 1cup |
|

For Topping |
|
|
|
|
|
Eggs beaten 4 |
|
|
|
|
|
sugar 2cups |

|
|
|
baking powder 1tsp |

lemon juice 1/4cup |

Fresh Lemon Zest 2tsp |

For frosting |

powdered sugar 1cup |

lemon juice 3tsp |

Preparation |
|
|
|
1. Pre Heat oven to 350F. In large bowl, combine all the ingredients for bars with an electric beater at low speed until crumbly. |
|

2. Press mixture evenly in bottom of ungreased 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350F for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown |
|
|
|
3. Meanwhile in large bowl, combine all Topping ingredients except lemon juice; blend well. Stir in 1/4 cup lemon juice. Pour mixture over warm bars |
|
|
|
4. Again Bake at 350F for 25 to 30 minutes or until top is light golden brown. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled. |

|
|
5. In small bowl ,combine 1 cup powdered sugar and enough lemon juice for desired spreading consistency ;blend until smooth. |
|
|
|
Spread over the cooled bars. Cut into square bars. |
