Too - Truthful Adverts

September 28, 2001

Sometimes, I dream of advertisements whose content is just a little too close to the truth about the product for comfort.

Here are a few slogans for various UK and imported products which'd never make it to print or to screen ...

  • "The Sun: Because Paper Will Never Refuse Ink"
  • "The News Of The World: Entertainment, Not Content"
  • "KFC With Our New, Special, Secret Ingredient! (Warning: KFC's Special Ingredient May Prove Harmful To Consumers With An Intolerance To Garlic and Chives)"

Keep coming back here for more as I dream them.

September 28, 2001

The internationally - reknowned quiz show, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, has been caught up in its first scandal, as a Major and million winner stands accused of cheating on the show. Apparently, he stands accused of having an accomplice in the audience who gave the man signals, seemingly by strategically clearing his throat with each question asked.

The show's producers, Celador, have suspended the episode of the show involved, pending an investigation. However, the first cracks are already appearing in the façade ... once, where people would usually ask "Is that your final answer?" nowadays, it's "Is that your final answer? *cough* *cough* *cough* ..."

The Major is apparently from the Royal Engineers. Good job he wasn't from the Signal Corps ...
