At the same time I found out that its natural area did not coincide with the territory of Anatolia. I also noticed that the feral cats in Yerevan streets had alike characterestics, as well as I learnt in local Cat Fanciers Club that almost all the cats in Armenia were fond of running water. It may mean that this breed is also Armenian endemic breed like the Van Cat, and inhabits Ararat valey and other areas around Mount Ararat. For the above reasons, I think it would be expedient to name the breed as the Ararat Cat.

In my further search in the Internet I found one more breed that was also a natural breed and may have van pattern and corresponding colors. It is registered as the Anatolian or Turkish Shorthaired Cat.
