...I ran and ran, my heart pounding almost as hard as I was breathing. I looked over my shoulder to see if they were still after me. In the dim moonlight, I could still make out four figures in hot pursuit. One of the spell casters hot on my trail cast a spell at me- “I conjure forth an unholy bolt of death!” he cried as I felt the spell hit my back. There was a brief yellow flash as the spell was absorbed by my resist magic spell. Finally I could run no more. I stopped running and turned on my heels, long sword in hand. My followers slowed to a halt and fanned out, surrounding me. “What do you want from me?” I asked. “You’re Baron Norrington’s squire,” one of them said. “You’ll make a great ransom. Put down your weapons and come quietly and you won’t get hurt.” Should I give up? Was there any chance I could take all four of them? One of them was marked with a black snake his face... my mind raced to remember what group or guild wore that mark. If it was the group I thought it was, The Sons of Serpentis, I didn’t want to fight any of them. “You’ve got me. I give up.” I said as I dropped my sword. Just then, I heard Baron Norrington’s battle cry as he rushed into combat, cutting down one of my captors with one mighty blow. I grabbed my sword and charged the spell caster, swinging wildly. He started to cast a spell, but he fell before he could finish the incantation. My lord and I stood side by side, squaring up with the last two opponents. It was payback time.
