Being as I am a Final Fantasy VII fanatic, I am always going to character shrines, reading fanfictions, and so on. On several occasions, they say that Zax's last name is 'Knightblade'.

For some reason, this just doesn't 'click' with me. 'Knightblade'? Sure, if sort of fits him, but it just doesn't seem last nameish to me. Also, I've never seen it proven. If you do have actualinfo on the name Knightblade, please e-mail me about it!

• It fits his attitude. He does act knight-ish. He acts like a hero a lot. ^_^ This also fits with the whole Zax/Aeris thing.
  
• He's a sword user. Knight use swords. Plus the 'blade' part of it.
  Cons about the name

• 'Knightblade'? Whenever I first read this, I started laughing. After all, Squaresoft comes up with decentlast names... Usually anyway. Realistic or not, 'Strife' was a pretty cool name.
  
• The type of sword Zax uses is quite unlike any sword any knight I've seen uses. Then again, I've never seen a Buster Sword anyway...

  Donovan

  This is another last name that I've seen mentioned in several different fanfictions. Actually, I'm quite fond of this one, when I compare it to the other.

  Pros about the name
  I know for a fact that this name's Irish, and that part of its meaning means 'Dark'. The only thing that can go with that is his dark hair, and he does wear darkish clothes, so...

  I know this is a bit personal, but a decent friend of mine has this as his first name. And he's cool. ;D

  It is a bit more realistic and better sounding than 'Knightblade', in my eyes.

  Cons about the Name

  The only bad thing about this name is that I have no idea where it originated from, as far as Zax goes. But that goes with the other name as well, so all's fair...

  That's my opinion on those supposed last names of his. ^_^ I prefer to think of him as just 'Zax', but if it's what Squaresoft chose as a name, so be it.

  JaeTitta@aol.com-That little Knightblade thing is just for fics and for people who don't really have a good imagination when it comes to names. I mean come on that's a horrible last name. Zax Knightblade.. it doesn't even look right. Here's the real thing right here from my understanding. Many people don't know that Tseng and Zack/Zax are cousins, and that Tseng AND Zack/Zax's last names are both Tzon. Zack Tzon or Zax Tzon is his name. And the horrible pun that came out of Tseng Tzon.. Sing Song.. yeah.. you get me.. anyways.. later.

  Alan Bates-Zack was never given a last name. You can view this any way you want but I think it may have soemthing to do with the fact that during the game, you never get to meet Zack. All the information on him is based on what others saw and thought of him. Zack was less of a real person than a fond memory others had.
