Goaltending has been called a main problem for the Flint Generals over the past few seasons. However, former ACHL Goaltender of the Year Dan MacIntyre made sure it wasn't tonight. MacIntyre stopped 30 of 31 shots to lead the Generals to a 4-1 victory in front of 2,496 fans in Pt. Huron's McMorran Arena. MacIntyre played for Pt. Huron coach Bruce Ramsey with the Winston-Salem Parrots of the ACHL, and showed Ramsey what he was missing. Along with the key play of Macintyre, the strong play of Generals Captain Jim Duhart continued, as Duhart(3, 4)added two goals and an assist. The Generals special teams was once agaIn on fire today, scoring two power play goals. Also scoring was Kevin Kerr(2), who added an assist as well. The other Flint goal came from Bobby Reynolds(1). The only Pt. Huron goal came at 4:14 of the 1st Period, giving the Beacons a 1-0 lead after Brent Gretzky(1) scored, however, the Generals, after that, scored 4 straight goals to nail down the victory. The Generals continue thier strong start at 2-0-0, with 4 Points and first place in the East. The Beacons drop to 0-1-1, good for 1 point in the East. The Generals take the ice again on Sunday night for a 4:05 matchup at home against Missouri.
