| Missouri River Otters 1 @ FLINT GENERALS 2 Perani's Hockey World Arena and Events Center, Flint October 26th, 2003 Attendance: 2,397 It appears the Generals have finally gotten off to a good start. Now it's up to them to continue it. The Generals, who hadn't had a 3 game winning streak more than once last year, won thier 3rd straight game to start the season with a 2-1 victory over the Missouri River Otters and Perani's Event Center. The last time the Generals started 3-0 was the 1999-2000 season, where they went on to sweep the Quad City Mallards for the Colonial Cup. The Generals were once again headed by a strong performance between the pipes, this time coming from Mike Gorman, who stopped 23 of 24 shots and all 10 Missouri shots in the 3rd period to push his record to 2-0. The Otters also got a strong performance from Brian Regan, who stopped 21 of 23 Generals shots, but his record fell to 0-2 with the loss. The Generals Jim Duhart(5) contiuned his hot streak, as he scored the first goal of the game and 5th goal in 3 games to give the Generals the lead 1-0 at the 17:44 mark of the 1st period. In the second, Bobby Reynolds(2)struck on yet another power-play goal to give Flint a 2-0 lead. Late in the second, the Otters finally got on the board as Jeff Petruic(1)scored to make it 2-1, however, the score stayed that way and the Generals held on for the win. With the victory, the Generals moved to 3-0-0, and the Otters fell to 0-3-0 with the loss. The Generals currently hold the 1st Place spot in the Eastern Confrence and thier next matchup is Friday, Halloween night, at home against the Quad City Mallards, game time 7:35pm.
