All good things are said to come to an end. And the Generals winning streak ended on Halloween night. The Generals dropped thier first contest of the season by the final score of 3-2, in a game highlighted by superior goaltending on both sides of the ice. The Mallards were led by a superb performance by goaltender Jeff Reyneart, who turned away 35 of 37 Generals shots, including 8 power plays to improve his record to 2-1-0 on the season. In between the pipes for Flint was Dan MacIntyre, who turned away 25 of 27 Quad City shots for the loss, dropping his record to 1-1-0. The game was highlighted by 85 penalty minutes between the teams, 47 from Quad City and 38 from the Generals. Flint converted on 2 of 10 of those power play chances, getting goals from Martin Woods(1), and Dallas Anderson(1). The Mallards scored three times on even strength, getting goals from Jon Francisco(1), Patrick Nadeau(2), and the game winner in the 3rd from Marty Hilinka(3). The Generals, with the loss, drop to 3-1-0, good for 6 points and a tie for first with Richmond in the UHL's Eastern Confrence. The Mallards win boosts them to 2-1-0, good for 4 points and 2nd place in the UHL's Western Confrence. The Generals look to come back from this loss tommorow night, at home against the Missouri River Otters. Game time 7:35pm.
