Motorola V200

Guide on Loading MP3s to the v220 through your computers USB data cable

Software Needed:
    p2kman   =>   http://motorolac.wz.cz/download/p2kman.zip
    p2kman drivers (for XP + 2000)  =>http://motorolac.wz.cz/download/P2K_driver_2.3.zip
    Audacity (optional)  =>  http://audacity.sourceforge.net/windows.php

1.First find the mp3 you want for your ringtone.
2. Using audacity( or any other mp3 editor), edit it to shorten it to the portion you want, an entire mp3 would be too large.  Go to file, preferences, file formats, and near the bottom it says mp3 bit rate.  Change it to 64 or below to make the file much smaller.  Then, export the file as an mp3 (32 characters or less name required) to the directory of your choice.
3. Open up p2kman, and connect your phone via usb and update the file list.  Go into V220, mobile, then click on audio.  Then click PC >>> PHONE, find the shortened mp3 you made, and select it.  P2KMAN will put it into your phones audio folder.  In your phone go into the menu and go to mulitmedia (should be bottom right corner) and go to sound (bottom left), and scroll to the bottom where you will find your tone.  It will be able to play, but you won't be able to use it as a ringtone, yet.
4. Now, back in P2KMAN, find the mytone.db and temptonedb.db files in the audio folder, and  back them up to your PC to be safe, then delete them from your phone.
5.  In your phone go to the menu, settings (far left middle), initial setup(fifth from top), master reset (2nd from bottom), and put in your security code (000000 as a default i believe, at least with my phone).  Your phone will reset, the only things really changed are the wallpaper and ring (you can simply hit camera, go into the menu, go to pictures, and find a picture to apply as your wallpaper).
6.  What resetting the phone did was create new mytone.db and temptonedb.db files including the newfound MP3s in the audio folder.
7.  Now in the ring details, you can hit loud detail (or soft, vibrate, vibe and ring) and for calls find your ring (at bottom I believe), and select it.  Now when someone calls, your absolute  fav MP3 will play, very realistically.   You can now create and load custom rings onto your motorola V220.
