Using the right hair care products is an essential element to healthy hair. Often that means
spending a little more money for the better products. (However it is valid to note that there
are some inexpensive products which work very well, and some products work differently on
various hair types.) I opted to try a slightly more expensive shampoo in my search for a higher
quality product than the average stuff I normaly use. After spending a ridiculously long time
in the shampoo isle at a local drugstore examining the many different bottles, I decided to try
Infusium 23's Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, for $6.99 CDN for a 350ml bottle.
(Note: I also found similar Infusium 23 shampoos and conditioners designed for extra body.)
The bottles are modestly decorated with no picutres just a white background and colourful text.
On the back the bottles claim that Infusium 23 "infuses hair with 23 essential pro-vitamin
and hair treatment ingredients to correct, restore and structurize dammaged normal to dry hair".
I can't be certain about the pro-vitamins, but I did notice a slight difference in my hair. The
Infusium 23 shampoo and conditioner did indeed make improvements in my hair's softness,
and my hair was slightly easier to untangle.
The extra cost above average shampoos and conditioners was worth it just for the scent alone.
The shampoo and conditioner have matching scents which are wonderful. I loved the way it made
my hair smell, and for me personally, scent is very important in shampoos and conditioners as I
usually wear my hair down and since it falls around my shoulders I can often smell the aroma of
the shampoos and conditioners I use.
I have noticed that my hair tends to go through cycles in which it gets oilier sooner than usual
and sometimes has trouble staying nice until my every other day shampoo. I tried the
Infusium shampoo at a time when my hair was getting oiller again, and I found that early on
in the second day, my hair was oily already and in need of a wash. (Of course I always get told
that I am the only one who notices, but I assume people want to be comfortable with themselves.)
I wondered if it was the shampoo which had caused the excessive oil, it was a moisturising
shampoo afterall. But I couldn't be certain since my hair seems to go through this every once
in a while anyways, and my hair was fine the fist day of the wash. So as far as the shampoo
causing the excess oiliness of my hair, I can not be certain. And I will point out that
different products often effect people's hair in different ways; I just tell my
experiences with certain products so people have one more thing to assist them in making hair
care choices. But I did enjoy the way my hair felt on the first day with the
Infusium Moisturizing shampoo.
To this day, I still use the Infusium Moisturizing Conditioner. I love this
conditioner. It works well with my hair and leaves it soft. I have not noticed any drawbacks
to this conditioner. It works great, and has a very pleasant scent.
On another note, I gave a bottle of the Infusium Moisturizing shampoo to my sister for
Christmas. Her hair was not in a very healthy state due to frequent dyeing and stripping and
overprocessing in too close periods of time without letting the hair rest and remoisturize.
What used to be normal well behaved thick hair turned into dry frizzy hair and she required a
de-frizzing silicone leave-in product to use on her hair after every wash or it would get frizzy
and difficult to comb and would stand almost straight up. She often complained that her hair
was never soft and felt like straw. After her first use of the Infusium Moisturizing
shampoo she exclaimed "My hair feels like real hair!" She later acquired the conditioner
and uses them both every day now. She has noticed an increase in softness and a decrease in the
frizziness and need for de-frizzing products. Although it has not immediately cured her hair,
it has helped it a great deal on it's way back to health.
With my sister's success with this product, I reccommended it to a girl in my dance class who
also had overprocessed dry hair. She found similar results as my sister and noticed that the
natural curl in her hair was starting to come back. I also recommended this the Infusium
shampoo and conditioner to a friend of mine who also has wavy dry hair and lives in Florida,
which is a very hot and humid climate. He noticed a great reduction in the frizziness in his
hair due to the Infusium(especially when he forgot his Infusium and had to go back
to his old shampoo and conditioner for a few weeks). He also greatly enjoyed it's scent.
Conclusion:
Infusium's Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner worked wonders for myself and all whom I
reccommended it to. It especially benefitted those with dry, frizzy, dammaged hair and helped
them return their hair to a healthier state. Although the shampoo was too oily to last my own
every-other-day washings, fine hair tends to be excessively oily at times, and so it may just be
due to my hair type, or my own personal body chemistry, and it was fine for me if I stepped up
my washings to every day. I fully reccommend Infusium and definitely think it is worth
the extra money in comparison to average drug store products. Infusium is readily
available at local drugstores so you don't have to go out of your way to purchase it.
