The Ultimate Naked Big-Bore Muscle Bike |

A combination of modern superbike performance and the nostalgia of one of Kawasaki's most famous models from the early 1980s, Kawasaki's ZRX delivers a street ride unlike any other. |

The ZRX1100 recalls Kawasaki's early superbike heritage, but fools no one with its retro styling. The ZRX1100's appearance immediately brings back memories of the Z-1R Eddie Lawson Replica with its striking green paint, tubular bridged aluminum alloy swingarm and four-into-one exhaust. And like any respectable hot rod, the big ZX-11 based engine stands naked in all its glory as the ZRX is devoid of engine-hiding bodywork. |
Get on a ZRX and it feels right. Ride it far and fast and the feeling intensifies. Its incredibly strong and torquey engine, rigid and nimble short-wheelbase chassis, braced swingarm, sturdy forks and six-piston front brake calipers provide all of the performance features of a modern sportbike. |
Many changes were needed to create the new 1200s model. Bore and stroke were increased from the 1100 replica. That required completely new engine cases. Cam profiles have been altered, a new crankshaft has been fitted and both gearbox and clutch have been worked over. The new exhaust system is made of stainless steel. The swingarm is is larger and better triangulated. Its pivot has been relocated, the rear wheel and tyre are both wider and the wheelbase is longer. Fork offset has been reduced to compensate, giving the best of both worlds - a bike that is steadier at speed and that corners more easily. |
