| Many changes were needed to create the new 1200s model. Bore and stroke were increased from the 1100 replica. That required completely new engine cases. Cam profiles have been altered, a new crankshaft has been fitted and both gearbox and clutch have been worked over. The new exhaust system is made of stainless steel. The swingarm is is larger and better triangulated. Its pivot has been relocated, the rear wheel and tyre are both wider and the wheelbase is longer. Fork offset has been reduced to compensate, giving the best of both worlds - a bike that is steadier at speed and that corners more easily. |
