[walls]
yellow paint now scarred by blu-tack, finger smudges
posters of the past or careless hands
pinholes, pencil marks and flakes of plaster
stretching from ceiling to floor.
grasps my shelves and noticeboards
holds photos, quotes and paper oblongs
close to itself.
obscured by reflections, switches, wiring, things
that stifle the sun colour with its tinge of green.
silently my walls accept and listen
to musical phases, tears and secrets
kisses, fights, lonely ramblings
never stirring from faithful structure
if walls could talk.
