PART FOURTEEN Posted by z.q. on 6/08/2001, 1:45am -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *****NOTE : THIS PART IS STILL BEING WRITTEN AND MAY CHANGE***** -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "That's none of your damn business, Jerry," I snapped. One of the few regular audience members yelled from their seat, "Then what are you doing here?" Jean-Claude placed an elegant hand on mine. "Ah, ma petite, let us enlighten these wonderful people as to the origins of our relationship," he said smiling as his voice flowed like silk over the room. The hairs on my arms stood at attention with the deliberate use of his seductive voice. I jerked my hand from under his and glared at him. This only made his smile widen."Won't you tell the nice people how we met?" he asked. I crossed my arms low on my stomach, refusing to speak. Childish yes, but damnit I was really hating this. He took it as his cue to continue. "Several years ago, I met this....charming woman you see here." His gaze strayed to me."She was so infuriating that it aroused my interest, and the chase began." He paused and gave a small laugh in rememberance. "So it was kind of a love at first sight thing?" Jerry asked as he walked through the aisles of the audience. "No!" I protested. "No, it was most certainly not love at first sight." An african-american lady, who clearly had attitude, next to Jerry signalled for the microphone and he obliged. "Girl, you crazy. He fine. I mean , girl, look at him. How could you not fall in love with that?" There were several shouts of agreement, I even heard one suggestion that mde me blush. "I never said he wasn't georgeous. Sure I lusated after him, but I had a different point of view back then." I paused, "Then I met Richard." "Your third." Jerry interupted. "Yes. And we started dating and it made Jean-Claude extremely jealous." I held my hand up to Jean-Cluade before he could object. "Don't even try to deny it. He asked for a chance to 'woo' me. That's where it all got complicated. I started dating both of them to keep them from fighting over me." "Let's meet the third part of this triangle, Richard." Jean-Claude and I turned as a video screen came on behind us showing a silouhette of Richard. "Richard, you have asked for your identity to be hidden for your protection, why is that?" "Because of my job." Richard said in a voice that was deeper than his own, must be the voice alteration at work. "I'm a werewolf, leader of the local pack. Lycanthropy can only be transmitted in animal form, it's a disease, kinda like a handicap, but people stull discriminate." Richard explained sadly. "So you survived a werewolf attack?" "No, I contracted it though the vaccine." "I thought the vaccine was suppose to help prevent being infected?" "Well, apparantly it doesn't always work that way." "Ok so back to the love triangle we've got going here." Jerry said getting things back on track., perhaps Richard's tone of voice was making him a bit nervous. You and Anita began dating and then Jean-Claude felt he was getting the raw end of the deal, and asked for a chance to 'woo' her away from you, correct?" "No, actually we had only been dating a little while when I asked her to marry me." a few "awwws" could be heard from the audience. "But Jean-Claude felt he should have a chance before we committed, and it's been an uphill struggle ever since." "So, Anita, why did you agree to this arrangement? Why delay marriage to date the vampire?" Jerry sounded genuinely iinterested. "Because if I would have said no to Jean-Claude he would have done everything in his power to keep us apart. Besides, at that time I didn't know if I would be able to handle his turning furry once a month, and I was honest with him about it." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PART FIFTEEN |
