Road Trip Challenge: Part 8 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At five o’clock we finally pulled ourselves out of bed, mainly because of hunger. I think we had finally found something that put up a good fight against lycanthrope metabolism. “I think I humped the green fairy this morning,” Jason said holding his head. “No, dude that was my leg,” Zane replied pulling a clean shirt over his head. After dressing in whatever was laying close enough for us to reach without too much effort we went down and hopped on the streetcar going uptown. We had dinner at Copeland’s (http://www.copelandsofneworleans.com) at the corner of St. Charles and Napoleon. We feasted on traditional Cajun cooking and by the end of the meal we were all feeling a lot better. Upon returning to the hotel the boys were quickly dressed for the evening – Zane in his traditional leather pants and vest, Jason in skintight vinyl pants and shirt, and Nathaniel in his favorite vinyl shorts and straps combination that I had photographed him in when I had first arrived in St. Louis. Cherry and I made the boys wait in the lobby while we got ready. We exited the elevator looking like the gothic rejects from the Lady Marmalade video. The vinyl booty shorts we had purchased at Gargoyles were coupled with the corsets from Trashy Diva. I again had my new boots on, but Cherry had opted against her new stilettos and wore her favorite combat boots instead. We decided to take a taxi to the club instead of drawing a lot of unwanted attention on the streetcar and walking the streets. We arrived at The Shim Sham Club (www.shimshamclub.com) a half hour before the show started and found places to stand against the second tier railing. The Shim Sham was a small venue that was decorated in a vintage 40s – 50s kind of style. They catered to all different genres but latched on to the big band era style of décor. The crowd roared as the lights went out and Lords of Acid (http://www.lordsofacid.com) took the stage. They were so outrageous and vulgar, their lyrics raunchy, their onstage antics obscene. They sang all our favorite songs: “Crablouse”, “Most Wonderful Girl”, “Rough Sex”, “Pussy”, “Scrood Bi You”, “Rover Take Over”, “Rubber Doll”. By the end of the show the crowd was so worked up from the sexual innuendos that I thought an orgy might break out. Luckily… or unluckily however you see it, we escaped orgy free and set off to Mythique still singing the songs we had heard. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 9 Index |
