GETTING BUDDY WITH KEVIN
Kevin Joseph Zegers was born on September 19th 1984, which makes him 19 years old. His parents are called Jim and Mary-Ellen, and he has two sisters called Krista and Katie, who are aspiring figure skaters.Katie has also followed her brother into acting. She starred as Rosemary Kennedy (aged 6 - 9) in the 1993 mini-series JFK- Reckless Youth. They all live in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. She also joined him in the film "In the mouth of madness".

So, how did Kevin get to be where he is today? Well, he started in showbusiness at the young age of 6 making over 30 commercials and doing modelling. He was invited to London as a child model for a fashion show. He was getting steady work until he got his big break with the feature film 'Life With Mikey' playing the kid version of the title character which was played by Michael J. Fox. Following on from that came an excellent guest appearance in 'The X-Files' and a part in the tv series 'Free Willy'.

In 1997 he landed the role that he is probably most famous for, the role of Josh Framm in Disney's 'Air Bud'. Two sequels were spawned from this, turning the quiet Canadian cutie into a fully fledged teen heart throb.

When Kevin is away filming, one parent stays with him and one stays at home in Woodstock to watch the girls skate and keep the house running. His mum says he is a hard working boy and very well behaved. He loves hanging with his parents and says that they are more like friends. They obviously trust him too as they have let him steer his own career rather than making decisions for him.

At home his acting career is not a big deal to his friends as he has had the same buddies since kindergarten.

So what does Kevin do in any spare time he may have? Well, he plays golf with his dad and he works out a lot.

He is also the captain of a hockey team and they have a standby for when he is off shooting movies.
If he can't be playing sports he watches them and almost never changes the channel from ESPN. He loves to watch the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Kevin's education is very important to him. He wants to get a university degree and study sports medicine. He would like to become a sports doctor or trainer. He'll get to see all the games for free, right? He would also like to produce and direct one day.

He enjoyed his recent stay in Los Angeles while he was filming 'Titans', but doesn't think that he would like to leave Woodstock permanently because it is so laid back. His favourite memory is coming back from shooting a movie one Christmas eve. He says that it was just nice to be home. He also thinks that child actors heads can get bigger than the Grand Canyon. He explains that it is because people on set are so nice to you. "Can I get you something to eat? Something to drink? Is the heat ok in the car?" Not that he doesn't like that, but when he is at home and hungry his mum will just say "Go make it yourself, Honey ".

At the moment he is trying to persuade his parents to buy him a long-haired chihuahua.
He supports the Make-A-Wish foundation too.

His pet peeves are traffic, busy signals, flying and mean people.

So we know about Kevin now but what about girls, what does he look for? Over to you Kevin. "It's mostly about personality. I wouldn't bother with somebody who is stuck up or prissy, or who worries about their hair all the time. I like a girl who will go out in the rain and play soccer in the mud. Just someone who's really, really nice".

Now you know girls, what are you waiting for ? Go grab those soccer boots!
