Introduction & Credits

Much of the information and material I have included was given to me by my dear friends and genealogist, including Dorothy Voorhees of Leavenworth, KS; Joanne Stolpe of Burbank, CA; Bruce Armstrong Sizelove of Glendale, CA; his brother John Robert Sizelove of Kettering, Ohio; Chrystal (Jackson) Sizelove of Muncie, IN; Lisa & Steve Siceloff of Port Lucie, FL; Virginia Erler of Cupertino, CA; Beverly Stone of Seattle,WA; Debbie Quinn of Alexandria, IN; a dear distant cousin Catherine Leinbach of Winston-Salem, NC. Recently, Diana Goldenberg, who has been a great help with the John Mann & Persia Stratton line. Want to congratuate her for her wonderful effort on the new Myfamily.com site. Cousins John & Marian Ebert of Oregon, John grew up with my father and has shared many wonderful tales of their younger years. In July of 2002, John and Marian traveled to Ohio, and spent several days visiting with us. There time here was much appreciated. Rita (Sizelove) Cheffy & Kathryn (Sizelove) Sherrill, both of Springfield, IL; most recently Ann & Roland Zeisloft of PA, and a big thank you to Helen Rowe (Kenyon) Bartalamay of Spokane, WA. Helen recently sent photo's of Joseph & Mary Ellen (Pesterfield) Sizelove from her personal family collection. These were the first photos of Joseph Sr. & Mary Ellen I'd ever seen.
Early in February 2000, I received the most wonderful gift. My dear cousin Virginia Erler of CA sent a package containing a book of Bible verses and a small ledger booklet with entries made by my 2nd great-grandfather Joseph Sr., great-grandfather Joseph Jr., and grandfather Mathias Sizelove. The entries in these two books were made from 1884 to 1934. These are the first two tangable objects once carried by my Sizelove ancestors to come to my posession. Want to extend my deepest gratitude to Virginia for her kindness. Must also mention at this date, 22 April, 2000, Virginia's mother, (my grandaunt) Snowdie Blanche (Sizelove) Magee, celebrated her 102nd birthday on 10 Jan. (which happens to also be the birthdate of my youngest son.) I was saddened as all family members were, to learn that this great beloved matriarch passed away on 7 March 2000. She had expressed the desire to live in three centuries, and acutally did, living in the 1800's, 1900's and 2000's.
There are countless more individuals down through the years that have contributed, forgive me if I didn't mention your name. I'm currently working on a source sheet containing all of you, which I would like to share, it will take some time as I need the permission of each of you before making such a list. There is far too much material for any one person to verify all events. Some of the stories (which are so prized) are verbal recollections of senior family members, with no possible way to verify. If you find errors, please let me know so that I may make those additions or corrections to future reports. Like all gen reports of this type, new information constantly surfaces which may alter events listed, so please consider this an early draft of an ongoing project.
On 10 October 1999, I received an email from one of my dear sisters, Jacki who resides in Florida. We haven't been in contact for over 25 years, so needless to mention. I'm delighted to be able to chat with her.
Sadened to learn of the loss of Sara (Corella) Sizelove, wife of my uncle Benny Sizelove of Chula Vista, CA. Dear aunt Sara will be greatly missed by everyone. She passed away on 10 December, 2000. Also for the loss of sister, Elaine of California.
I have spent countless hours of research in the archives at The Ohio Historical Society in Columbus,Ohio; LDS Temple Archives in Salt Lake City, Utah; various couthouses, and cemeteries: Licking County Historical Society Archives. Must also give my kindest gratitude to the many of caring and most thoughtful ancestors who spent much time and effort for the benefit of decendants like myself. Like my ancestors and kin all over the country, I am but one more of the caretakers, trying to put it back together. My hopes and prayers are that someone will pick up where we end and locate even more names, belonging to this honorable family. Robert M. Sizelove, Sr. 26 March, 2000
