Shuy's Glenn Dragon Area
Shuy had been an expert at flying Steeds on Zekira, and his daredevil routines in the skies during races have won him the lasting attention of the betting members of the crew and inhabitants of the ship.

But will he plan on having dragon races?

The better question is, how is he standing the bright light? The "daylight" of the dome seems to be bright enough to cause a suntan on those who have sensitive skin, however it seems that Shuy's uv-blocking sunglasses have him covered here. He normally loves darkness...But he's obviously willing to make exceptions for the sake of his new companion egg!

The egg here is from one of the two sets of parents on the sands, but Shuy is unsure which one. We believe it to be
Mist and Fantasia's.

The sex, color and type will also be found when it hatches!
He's hatched! Read on below!

The space above contrasts with the natural cloud formations just inside the huge dome. The engineers as well as the weather shapers of the Ship enjoy the patterns which move overhead, sometimes it even rains!
"Do you like the rain?" Shuy asked, smiling behind his special glasses. "I think you do! Look at you!"

Other people looked at the normally sedate and careful Shuy and decided he'd come completely undone with the hatching of his dragon from this Glenn world.

He glared up at them, from over the light blue dragonet that had hatched from his large egg.

"He will be a strong dragon, so watch it..." Shuy told them, and they backed away.

"Won't you?" He asked again, and dipped the sponge into the clean, fresh water he had in a large stone basin. "I don't think you can see the clouds yet, you're too little..." Shuy looked up for the dragon, at the cloud formation which trembled overhead. When a peal of thunder and lightning dropped from those clouds Shuy jolted -- but the dragon didn't! In fact, he seemed to really enjoy the noise!

Shuy laughed, "well you're courageous under fire, that's certain!"

The light blue dragonet 'meepled' a little and curled his head into Shuy's arm, and fell asleep with the patter of rain around them. It wasn't cold rain, so Shuy decided that this would be a regular occurance to plan for. Playing in the rain. He smiled. "Raindance," he announced, "That's your name."
"When fly?" Raindance asked.

"When you're older. You can fly when your wings are big enough," explained Shuy. Raindance wasn't very happy with this. He stomped around and sulked.

When the next semi-artificial rainstorm blew through the dome, Raindance even refused to go out and play in it.
"'Dance, you can't sulk all day. It will be ... months before your wings are big, but when they are, you'll be able to swoop and dive and--"
"NOW!" Raindance bellowed, in his childlike way. Shuy gulped, the dragonet was getting big, but he could still use a little childlike coddling now and again.
Shuy stood under the wet downpour, letting himself get drenched. He'd gotten very used to it in the past few weeks. Ever since Raindance was able to start speaking in short, demanding sentances. Raindance was indeed going to be a big tough dragon.

But he'd have to wait, to fly. For the moment, however, the little light blue dragon's mood swung around again and he bolted out of the shelter, and into the falling rain. His favorite activity so far was jumping into the puddles in the grassy hillside, or sliding along the shaped-cement walkways when no one was on them. He surfed around the curve of one walkway, and tumbled into a blue heap at its edge.

Laughing, Shuy mentally contacted one of the others who had a dragonet like this, and wondered to them, how they could ever grow up?
It was no surprise to anyone at the Glenn that Raindance was an Air dragon in the making. The big light blue dragon stretched his wings, and though he knew how to fly, he hadn't quite done it yet, at least not in the confines of the ship. When they had gone back (with difficulty) to the Glenn, he'd glided a bit and even hovered over the group of other dragons, waiting for or even challenging them to join him.

"I fly well," Raindance announced. "Better than mean black Storm."

"Neres Storm is a ... difficult girl, isn't she?"

"She is mean. She even tried blasting at me."

Raindance leaned on his side, while Shuy padded around him with a long sturdy pole for scratching. "That feels nice," the dragon commented.

"It's good you think that, my friend. I was worried that you'd always be a whiny demanding child."

"I AM NOT WHINY!!"
The storm that Raindance flew into was a big one. Almost hurricane force winds blasted his light colored hide, and he reveled in it. In fact, so did Shuy.

For he was riding the dragon into that storm! From the crook of the dragon's neck, Shuy balanced himself and snugged down the strap he used to hold on. The slender dragon swung his head back and nuzzled his rider-friend.

"Are you sure? Are you safe?"

"I'm fine! I had never gone this far into a storm on a Steed! Keep going!"

Raindance did as his friend bid him. They'd heard that the Glenn had a new batch of hatchlings, and ... they were probably going to be the last. That saddened both rider and dragon, but there might always be other places to breed.

"I'm not worried about us," Shuy called out, as a tremendous bolt of lightning struck down to the ground below, "what about the people down there?"

"I will take care of some of this storm for them..." Raindance said, and suddenly opened his mouth. Shuy had never seen Rain do this! And then, the air around them became charged with heat. The clouds moved around, rippling, until they opened again to clear sky above the patch of land below.

"That's amazing!" Shuy said, still drenched. "But the storm will continue."

"It is going north... Do not worry about it now..."
