Kaalkin's Quarters

Born in White Valley to escaped Slaves Mikaal and Davka, Kaalkin was born immortal and knowing it. His social skills and education have been brought a long way since his days on Zekira, and he has a very keen awareness of Etan and other people's workings. He was originally met by Viaan and though she did not officially recruit him, he always kept a mental ear out for Etan's presence, warning Viaan and her brood whenever he was acting up.

He has a worldwide sense for electric tech, meaning that when the ship approaches a planet with even a shred of electric power being used, he knows it. When he arrives to a world, his senses all go into overdrive. He can sense within five thousand miles any mental activity, he is extremely useful for locating lost people on deserted worlds...

He can use his teleportation through any electric source to arrive places long before others do, so long as there is power he can get there. He can, logically, control machines, and that is fortunately a bit of a savant for him as well, since he was not raised among much technology.

Kaalkin has violet skin with golden soft parts, his wild hair is two-toned in hazel brown and pale violet, while his eyes are normally brown they change with his mood or with his use of powers. He has a long, tufted tail, very long ears (the tech-elf feature of his mother) that are tipped in gold coloration, short, curved spines on his arms, and heavy fingers with short claws on them. Like his father, he wears not a shred of clothing, but unlike him he is unlikely to EVER wear any. He has spines on his heels, as well as having too few fingers and only three toes.

His living offspring include Sensorium and Zhiin.

Kaalkin's quarters within the ship are securely at the front, nestled with others he enjoys visiting with. He is far more social than his father, and keeps up with gossip the old fashioned way, by listening in with his huge ears. His quarters are open and airy, well lit and clean. He has a kind of "sand dune" theme to the place, but with a strangely silicate tint.

He likes small creatures, the smaller and more clever the better.
Viridia paced around in the large quarters and smiled. Kaalkin would like her surprise.

"You can't surprise me, of course, you give off information like a fountain gives off spray." Kaalkin purred, resting on a high shelf like a feline.

"Then you already know where I've been." The Breeder woman said, holding out her hand for Kaalkin to take it. He smoothly came down from the shelf and dropped to the sandy floor.

"I did not say that I needed a--" Kaalkin started, but Viridia put her long finger over his slightly velvety lips.

"Whether you needed or wanted is silly, Kaalkin. Everyone else is getting their beautiful companions together to show off and you won't have one?"

Kaalkin grinned, and his long ears flexed back a bit. "Of course I'll take one, if they'll stand the heat in here."

"I think that it will be just fine," Viridia commented, and made a mental note to find something from the
Ever Realm which would accomodate itself to his exotic tastes as well as the feel and look of his quarters. And of course, not be too big either.
The whorling preened through Kaalkin's hair, as Viridia chuckled to herself.

"Stop laughing. I think she's a beautiful little... whorling thing." Kaalkin said, leaning into the blue-white creature's little pincher fingers. She chittered, and Kaalkin fought the urge to chitter back.

"She's adorable." Viridia said, lying.

"You don't have to like her. She's my whorling and I like her more than enough for the two of us." Kaalkin harrumphed.

"I just wasn't expecting something so ... well, with so many limbs!" Viridia said.
"Well you go on assuming that. I'll be here. Now, Achyli, would you like something to eat?" Kaalkin said while Viridia exited his quarters. The whorling creeled, clicking her beak and snapping with her little pinchers. "Of course you would. Sweetheart..." Kaalkin tended to the new creature like a doting grandmother. He didn't realize that others were watching him, and he didn't exactly care, either.

"You'll grow on them," Kaalkin insisted. "If I have to 'convince' them, you will!"
Achyli the whorling from Everrealm!
Achyli pranced around the room with a strange excitement, following Kaalkin around. The feline-Zekiran had located a new place to gather creatures, the Space Station Universal. On it, were some beautiful Corona Foxes, creatures somewhat like a cypran, kinda like a ferilon, almost like an egyptan, but not any of those things at all.

"I think I want one, and Achyli likes the idea, don't you?" He scratched the odd whorling on the shoulders, and her beak clacked excitedly.

Viridia paused, not knowing quite what to do with herself.

"Well, okay... they'll get along with... that?" She said.

"Her! She's a HER!" Kaalkin laughed. "Yes, I think so. She's really protective and friendly, even if you don't like her looks. Looks aren't everything."

"So says the man who has all the looks in the gene pool..." Viridia muttered. "All right, we'll head to the Universal place. If we see something else there, I'll be sure to tell the others."

Kaalkin nodded, grinning, and went back to prepare his quarters for the new arrival.
When Kaalkin brought back the bundle of jet-black fur and excited yipping, Achyli chittered and hummed with eagerness. The pup, cub, or kit whatever they'd like to call him, jumped from Kaalkin's arms and went to investigate the whorling.

"They seem to get along fine," Kaalkin said, as Viridia came to check up. She kept her distance from the whorling, and Kaalkin grinned widely.

"And it's name is?" Viridia asked, ready to press keys in the recording unit she held.

"Mozghas," Kaalkin said, "mmmoh-z, gasssh," he said more slowly. "It means motion - I think he's named correctly. And he's a he, Viridia. A 'male', boy cub, and his color is 'jet-black'. Okay?"

"Got it, Kaalkin, you annoying young child..." Viridia left him with his new cub. She heard the sounds of yipping and laughter, and wondered how long it had been since the exotic immortal man had truly laughed like that.
Mozghas romped around the patient Kaalkin's quarters with some excitement. It seemed he was begining to get his more adult plumage - though he was still quite young by any standards.

He whipped his trio of tails around, chasing them.

Always in motion and aptly named, it seemed. Mozghas finally wore himself out and plopped with a grunt down by Achyli. She began preening him, as he was well used to.

"That's a good run..." Kaalkin said, scratching the jet-black behind his ears and getting him to roll onto his back for the all-important belly-rub. "Maybe soon we'll head back to your home station and see about finding another of your kind. You'll get along with a couple of the others on the ship, but I think finding you a mate properly would be better than hoping an Egyptan or Cypran would mate with you, huh Moz?"

The corona fox yipped and kicked his leg, in agreement.
The adult and stately Mozghas strode around the room, with his tail fanned out proudly. Even Viridia gasped when the coronafox walked by.

"Kaalkin, that's ... Moz?" She asked. "He's gotten so..."

"He's an adult now. I'm hoping that we might... um, return to the Station so we can find him a mate. Wouldn't it be a shame if that beautiful male didn't spread some of his genes around?"

Kaalkin grinned, knowing that Viridia couldn't resist that kind of logic. They'd be back to the station sure enough. But would there be an interested - and available - female? Only time will tell!
