The Mayer family's earliest origins are in Bayern (Baveria), Germany in the town of Leonberg near Regensburg, Bavaria.  The earliest Mayer recorded is found in the historical church registers at Spachbrucken, Hessen Darmstadt, Germany.  The records cover the Mayer family down through the generations to one  ancestor's move to Zeilhard, Hessen-Darmstadt where the Progenitor of the Mayer Family was born and eventually moved his family to America..
