Should I bother taking Antropolgy in College? And if I do, how easy is it? -Juggling Joker First thing I should mention is that I took ANTH solely because it was a requirement. My academic interests lie in Politics, Law, in English, so I may not be the best person to ask as far as the enjoyment you'll get out of a college course. I found modern anthropology pretty interesting, we saw several documentaries on contemporary issues such as racial issues and economic recessions. However, the majority of the course was devoted to ancient states and proto-states such as the Incas, which I have to say I find boring as hell. There was also a LOT of reading involved, nearly as much as my European Govt's class, and Political Science classes are notorious for workload and difficulty. Also, this was an introductory Anth. class, but the professor seemed to think we were all majors - half the kids dropped out before mid-semester. I hung in there, and I'm still waiting for my damn grade (Jan. 15, usually). If Anth. is required at the college you go to, and you enjoyed a HS one anyway, then take it by all means.
