YUNNAN - a province of China, next to Tibet, home to many of China's non-Han ethnic minorities. Very mountainous and rugged.
	This is a small town of ethnic Tibetans, with a monastery at the top of the stairs. It was freezing cold in December (about -10C outdoors). Rather amusingly, one hotel I stayed in near here elected to save money by not bothering with heating - apparently this was normal (at least, that's what they told me...).
