JULY 2000
Friday 14 July - the first of three consecutive Friday gigs at Abelarde, sharing the bill with Sunways. The sound is good and the band pulls out all the stops. A more confident reading of Up is well received, and a reworked version of Sister rounds off the set in fine style. The energy is picked up on by Sunways, who deliver an excellent set. All in all, a great night out.

Friday 21 July - both bands perform spectacularly. Zen Arcade are called back for their first encore - a wild version of
Step Back.

Friday 28 July - the last of the double bill. Matthew vd Want kicks off. Zen Arcade play a powerful set, in spite of dropping Summer Sun to allow for Ian's flu-ravaged voice. A great way to round off the mini-residency!

AUGUST 2000
Oppikoppi claims Andy for 2 consecutive weekends, playing with the tribute band to the late great James Philips. Alistair and Iain join Andy for the Northam leg of the festival, to their livers' detriment. For the remainder of the month, the band kicks back a little, working on new material, with
Not About You emerging as the most compelling single.
