A newly raised Master Mason went to his first night of instruction. The lodge instructor asked, "Before we get started, does anyone have a question?"
"What is the true nature of Masonic light?" asked the new Master Mason.
"It cannot be described in words." replied the instructor.
"Then how can I learn about it that I might receive all the light this lodge can bestow?" asked the new Master Mason.
"The light cannot be learned. The more you try to seek it, the more it flees from you." answered the instructor.
"Then what are all these Master Masons doing sitting in lodge listening to you?" asked the new Master Mason.
In reponse, the instructor walked out of the lodge.
At that moment, the new Master Mason was brought to light.
