HONDO

Words and music ©1998 by Patrick Wickenden Hunter

There was a man his name was Hondo and he rode on a good steed

all alone out through the desert with the U.S. Cavalry and he rode across the

wastelands with his dog and his two guns he slept alone upon his saddle felt no fear

of anyone and maybe I could never understand what he did or what it meant

never before never again I want to be like Hondo but I know I will never be again

be like Hondo and I know I could be more than I am I want to be like Hondo but I

know I'll never understand you at all at all there was a man his name was Hondo he

hid the sun from his eyes gonna give you a little ska to remember him by I'm not sure

what you were doing but sometimes it makes me sad because I envy this strength t

hat I know I'll never have maybe I could not tell I keep these things to myself all my

hate and everything else I want to be like Hondo but I know I will never be again

be like Hondo but I know I could never understand I want to be like Hondo and I

know I could be more than I am for you sometimes maybe I could not hide what I

could not change or deny I'll think about you every night for the rest of my life

so I brought you over it was late and I wasn't sure but I thought tonight I could

reach you just once and I know you're so distant sometimes I'm not sure I watch

you turn away and I wait for you I want to be like Hondo but I know I will never be

again be like Hondo and I know I could be more than I am I want to be like Hondo

but I know I'll never understand you but just once just once I'm singing

la la la la la la la etc...
