Zeno was a Greek mathematician living in the 5th Century BC, soon after Pythagoras, He laid the foundations for arithmetic and algebra, as Euclid did for geometry some 120 years later. He is credited in the Bible with inventing the undecideable proposition "All Cretans are liars". The problem is Zeno was a Cretan.
