in Her many forms
The Goddess has many names---many faces.
Sekhmet

and Great Mother Healer of wounds.
She is the Goddess of Death and Wisdom---
Goddess of female sexuality.
Sekhmet is often shown as a black skinned woman with the head of a lioness. Her hair and eyes are often depicted as red or orange.
Lion-headed Sekhmet and her twin sister, Bast, created themselves in the beginning and made themselves the gods of sunset and sunrise. Together they are the archetypal dieties of all dualities.
Later stories tell that Sekhmet was created by the Sun God Ra (Re) from the fire of his eyes to punish the sinful mankind, and that she became the wife of Ptah, the craftsmen's god.
In the East, she is Kali, the destroyer and mirror of Shiva, who is Ptah.
In the old world, she was worshiped at her temple in Memhpis, and was Goddess of the unforgiving red desert.
Symbols for/of Sekhemt include: the lioness, Cobra, Udjat, and the Eye of Horus.
