Liszt (1811-1886)
Liszt was actually the first composer doodle that (who?) made its way into my romantic period notebook.  Note also the bad pun about virtuosos having high morals - yeah, I was apparently ambitious so early in the semester.  By the end, the doodling had degenerated into "people impaled on Beethoven's hair..."
"Franz-o.. of the tennnnn fingers..." (or more - though I do believe the story that he could play music while holding cigars)
The Liszt Encounter -
this actually came from a day we studied Brahms
Story goes that the young Brahms was introduced to Liszt at Weimar. The youngster was too nervous to play his piano works (Eb minor scherzo op.4  and C major sonata op. 1 for those of you who are keeping score), so Liszt sight read them for him.  This was all very well and good until someone asked Liszt to play one of his own compositions; he launched into his b minor sonata, and Brahms, tired and not impressed, fell asleep.  I repeat: SO THE STORY GOES...
I am so sure of my artistic merits that I feel the need to label "piano".. hmmm
