Grabada durante marzo y agosto de 1995, aunque fue escrita durante la epoca de Siamese Dream. Esta es una de las canciones favoritas de los Pumpkins, Billy comento para Guitar World en 1997 lo siguiente: "otro recuerdo a distancia de la epoca de Siamese Dream, "Set the ray to jerry " fue escrita durante la primera gira de Gish. Siempre ha sido una de las canciones favoritas del grupo. Una simple y dulce canción, con tan solo un bajo , bateria y algunos efectos con "delay" de James en su guitarra. Una noche llevé a Flood una par de cintas con cerca de 40 canciones, para decidir que canciones serían incluidas en MCIS, cuando escuchamos "set the ray" realmente me agrado, pero cuando miré a Flood el solo movio su cabeza diciendo NO. Y ese fue el final de "set the ray" en el album, ya que confio lo suficiente en la opinión de Flood .TRADUCCION
