Biography
Born on January 26th, 1977,
Paris-based Didier Allyne took part in the first 'Electronic Boom' in the
Nineties.
His Funk and Jazz influences (Herbie Hancock,
Miles Davis, Billi Cobham, Steve Gad) and his cinema culture (especially the
soundtracks with composers such as Ennio Morricone and John Barry) soon boldly
mingled with the first electronic echoes from, Massive Attack and Young
Disciple).
Didier masters both style-crossing and sound
arrangements. Among others, he refers to Mad Mike, Ron Trent, Carl Craig, Pete
Rock etc….
His passion for vinyl materialized in 1995 when
he was recruited by a record store in Paris where he worked with Charles
Schilling. His resolution to bring in new influences (Break Beat, Experimental
...) and unknown artists (People, Bel Air Project, ...) enabled him to turn the
store into an invaluable place for music lovers.
He then successfully launched his DJ career around
many cities in France : Rennes (at L'Espace), Le Mans, Strasbourg, Reims, Saint
Malo, La Baule, Nantes, Nice and many other places. In 1996, his youthful dream
came true when he played his first set at the Rex club in Paris and gained the
recognition of an experienced audience.
Several other performances followed at the Rex,
then at L'Enfer with the Magic Garden team, the What's Up bar, the Batofar, the
Folies Pigalle, the Gibus, the Tunnel in Milan, Interzonna in Verona, Florence,
Germany, Canada, London and Austria. He
rubbed shoulders with famous DJs such as Gilles Peterson, Rainer Truby, Gilb'R
& I:Cube, Oscar G, Modaji, Mike Grant, Imperial Dub, Tom Middleton, The
Idjut Boys, Ashley Beedle, Orin Walters, Alex Attias and many others.
In 1998, both his command and his love for
music came to maturity. Didier then treated himself to the opening of his own
record store, Traffic Records.
Today, Didier Allyne establishes himself as 'an
inventor and a mixer of minimal phases'. Whether Deep House or Nu Jazz, his
sets are always deeply fringed with Break Beat and pure House. From his mixes,
radiates a bouncy atmosphere, a colourful world of rhythms, an open invitation
to party.
