As our national philanthropy, Breast Cancer Awareness and Education, is a cause we hold exceptionally close to our hearts. On a national level, Zeta Tau Alpha strives to promote awareness of this disease on college campuses and communities around the country. Zeta Tau Alpha participates in Komen's Race for the Cure events as well as joining forces with the NFL to pass out shower cards and information at select games during the month of October. We strive to excel in doing our part to educate those around us in the importance of self-examinations and current statistics on the recovery based on detection. We are proud to say that Zeta Tau Alpha, as a whole, has donated over a million dollars to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. We, as young women, hope that we can continue to donate even more to this noble cause in the future. The Crown Classic is our way of making this happen.
Every Spring, the Zeta Tau Alpha chapter of Central Michigan University puts on our Crown Classic 5k Race. The funds we raise from this philanthropic event benefits the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, in support of the fight against breast cancer.
In February of 2004, the ZTA Foundation proudly announced that THINK-PINK! is now the registered trademark of ZTA! Currently Yoplait and ZTA are working together to collect pink lids from Yoplait yogurt containers. For every pink lid redeemed, 10 cents will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. |
