I grew up rural South Eastern Washington in the small town of  Dayton , and started drumming when i was about 10 in the school band. Later I got in my first band at the age 16 with a couple of friends, Ben Edwards, and Steve Baxter. There is no denying the fact that I owe 95% of my interest in music to my highschool friend Cody Rahn, an amazingly talanted and diverse musician.  I learned alot from just being around him. I learned the basics of music theory, Bass guitar, Drumming, and Guitar from him, I owe alot to mr Rahn for really opening my eyes to music. After a couple years of moving around and not really doing much with music I joined the Walla Walla Community College Jazz band. I owe a huge part of my  taste and musical ear to Tom Simon and all I learned in his class. Though I was only in his band for about two quarters I learned far more at that time about music then any other time in my life. it was in Jazz that I learned the importance of listening and playing with people, not just next to them. In the next year I joined 3 bands, one after the other, first came the punk band "heroes for hire", then a brief singer songwriter project with "Jake Turner", then came the band "Maelstrom". In Maelstrom I grew and developed my liking for technical music. Although we were not yet ready to write or able to play very technical music, we started experimenting with odd times, and developing our songwriting skills. When Maelstrom took a break, I found myself jumping from band to band, learning and growing and slowly developing both a sound of my own, and a love for technical music. When Maelstrom got together for a second time, we were finaly writing music we could be proud of... for a while. It displayed some of the technicality that we had always wanted to play, as well as tastefull, less repetitive song structure that we all beleieved in.  When livevil came around I was determined and ready to try and write some technical music. Though my lust for the technical was not shared by all, it could still be heard in the song writing, and drum parts. That pretty much brings things up to date, Right now I listen to alot of progressive metal like Meshuggah, Unearth, Dream Theater, Tool, Rush. ect... I hope to be adding to this in the near future so check back later.
