Colorado
My first trip to Colorado was in 1995 for Spring Break.  I had no idea how beautiful it would be.  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.  If you get a chance to visit this little bit of the U.S. take it!  Just quit lighting matches - it's a very flammable state!
These are pictures I took of Lake Dillon from my trip out there in August 1999.   We drove up into the mountains that day and stopped here on our way back.

There are dozens of places to visit in this state, and far too many to mention here.  However, be sure to spend at least one day at
Rocky Mtn. National Park, enjoy the wildlife and the absolutely gorgeous mountainous backdrop.  Stop for pizza at Beau Jo's.

If you've got a fat enough wallet, take the train up Pike's Peak and listen to the story about the woman who was inspired to write "America, the Beautiful" from this vantage point.

Check out
Seven Falls.  It's a beautiful waterfall, kinda touristy at times, but worth braving the crowd.   Go during the day when they don't have the tragic neon lights going.  Cave of the Winds is nice, too, but I live near Kentucky's Mammoth Cave, the longest recorded cave in the world, so I'm biased!
