San Francisco
March 2004
This was my first trip to California and I had a really difficult time coming back home.  I love the ocean, the weather, the city, and of course, the shopping.  I'm definitely putting this on my list of places to return to one day.
I was at the Citadel for training, but during lunch a group of us walked down to the bay and got to enjoy this great view.
The San Francisco Trolley.  I refrained from breaking into any Judy Garland songs while riding, but it was fun anyway.
A view of the bay and a gorgeous sailing ship from the Wharf.
A group of us from the training went to Chinatown one night.  I highly recommend The House of Nan King for the best Chinese food you'll have in this country.  Check out the kitschy stuff in the shops too.  Where else can you get chop sticks in the shape of a naked woman?
Lombard Street - the crookedest street in the world, supposedly, and a great way to discover whether or not you have any muscles in your legs!
The Sea Lions near Pier 39.  The one in the lower left corner was actually barking at me.  I named him Mom.
Ferrying by Alcatraz on the way to Sausalito.  It's smaller than I imagined.  Does that mean Nicolas Cage is shorter than I imagined?
A view of the city from the ferry.  You can barely see the Bay Bridge at the left.
