I am a member of Wolverhampton Astronomical Society and in April 2001 I gave a talk to the members on Sir Robert Ball. My research started when I acquired his book " A Popular Guide to the Heavens". Much of what follows comes from his son's biography " Reminiscences and Letters of Sir Robert Ball ", plus various extracts from internet sites and local history archives in the Midlands.
